Uganda ejects South Sudan in U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier

KAMPALA, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's U-20 national football team on Saturday qualified for the second round of the 2019 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier after stopping hosts South Sudan 3-0 in a game played in Juba.

Striker Steven Mukwala scored a brace, while Allan Okello netted the third goal all in the second half.

Uganda Hippos qualified on an 8-1 goal aggregate after winning the first leg 5-1 in Kampala.

Edgar Watson, the Uganda FA Chief Executive Officer told Xinhua in an interview that the team will now return to start preparations for the second round qualifiers where they will host Cameroon first between May 12 or 13 and the return leg to be played after a week.

The third round will be the final phase of the qualifiers for the tournament to take place in Niger next year. Enditem
