German shares close flat Friday

FRANKFURT, April 20 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 26.92 points, or 0.21 percent, to close at 12,540.50 points.

German airlines Lufthansa lost 2.14 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by energy group RWE and E.ON, which lost 1.97 percent and 1.33 percent respectively.

Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens gained 0.90 percent, the top gainer. Chemical group BASF advanced 0.81 percent. Telecommunications company Deutsche Telekomwent went up by 0.79 percent.

German multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share, with a turnover of 457.34 million euros (562.93 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
