French shares gain 0.39 pc on Friday

PARIS, April 20 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.39 percent, or 21.19 points, to close at 5,412.83 points.

A total of 26 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

French multinational telecommunications corporation ORANGE SA advanced 1.72 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French food services and facilities management company SODEXO gained 1.68 percent. French multinational corporation that specializes in energy management, automation solutions, spanning hardware, software, and services SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC rose 1.59 percent.

French multinational advertising and public relations company PUBLICIS GROUPE edged down 1.46 percent,the top loser of the blue chips. French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer STMICROELECTRONICS went down by 1.37 percent, French tyre manufacturer MICHELIN (CGDE) lost 0.89 percent. Enditem
