JAKARTA, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Delegates from South America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Caribbean countries are attending a meeting in Indonesia's Aceh province to discuss disaster risk management, an official said.

A total of 13 nations take part in the event which will end on April 26, according to Dewi Savitri Wahab, an official at the Indonesian Foreign Ministry.

Climate change is also one of the major issues discussed on the meeting, she was quoted by Antara news wire as saying.

Aceh province is located on the northern tip of Sumatra Island which suffered from a catastrophic tsunami in December 2004, leaving over 170,000 people dead and massive damages.

The province returned to normal after it completed a reconstruction and rehabilitation program in about 4 years with the help of the world community. Enditem
