Dollar rises briefly to upper 107 yen on expectations for U.S. inflation

TOKYO, April 20 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar briefly climbed to the upper 107 yen zone Friday in Tokyo amid U.S. inflation expectations following trend of rise in oil prices.

At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 107.55-56 yen compared with 107.31-41 yen in New York and 107.28-30 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday. It moved between 107.38 yen and 107.73 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.2325-2326 dollars and 132.56-60 yen against 1.2339-2349 dollars and 132.50-60 yen in New York and 1.2388-2389 dollars and 132.90-94 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon. Enditem
