Singaporean stocks close 0.7 pct lower

SINGAPORE, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) wend down 0.7 percent or 25.35 points to close at 3573.38.

A total of 1.48 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.41 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.07 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 271 to 144.

The STI index closed up 1.15 percent or 40.91 points to close at 3598.73 on Thursday. Enditem
