BUENOS AIRES, April 18 (Xinhua) -- A late goal from former Tianjin Quanjian midfielder Jadson gave Brazil's Corinthians a 1-0 victory over Argentine side Independiente in their Copa Libertadores group match here on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old netted in the 81st minute with a bullet header after Mateus Vital's precise cross from the left flank.

The result at Independiente's Libertadores de America stadium lifted Corinthians to the top of Group G with seven points from three matches, three points ahead of Colombia's Millonarios.

Seven-time Copa Libertadores champions Independiente are third, four points behind the leaders.

In Rio de Janeiro, a Wilson Morelo strike earned Colombia's Santa Fe a 1-1 draw with Flamengo at the Maracana stadium. Henrique Dourado had given the hosts the lead with an eighth-minute header after a Diego corner.

In Wednesday's other matches, Argentine side Atletico Tucuman beat the Strongest 2-1 in Bolivian capital La Paz and Paraguay's Libertad won 2-1 at home over Penarol of Uruguay. Enditem
