German shares close flat Thursday

FRANKFURT, April 19 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index down 23.41 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 12,567.42 points.

German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies lost 2.74 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by sportswear and equipment maker Adidas and multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer, which lost 1.59 percent and 1.43 percent respectively.

German tire specialist Continental gained 1.79 percent, becoming the top gainer. Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens advanced 1.72 percent. Commerzbank went up by 0.99 percent.

Siemens was the most traded share with a turnover of 286.90 million euros (355.24 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
