French shares gain 0.21 pc on Thursday

PARIS, April 19 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.21 percent, or 11.47 points, to close at 5,391.64 points.
A total of 26 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French multinational advertising and public relations company PUBLICIS GROUPE advanced 7.37 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French multinational mass media conglomerate VIVENDI gained 3.40 percent. French multinational corporation that specializes in energy management, automation solutions, spanning hardware, software, and services SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC rose 1.81 percent.
French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer STMICROELECTRONICS edged down 3.28 percent,the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational luxury goods conglomerate LVMH went down by 1.98 percent, another French international luxury company KERING lost 1.29 percent. Enditem
