French shares gain 0.50 pct on Wednesday

PARIS, April 18 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.50 percent, or 26.63 points, to close at 5,380.17 points.

A total of 26 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

TechnipFMC advanced 2.34 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French multinational corporation Schneider Electric gained 1.76 percent. European multinational aeronautical corporation Airbus rose 1.63 percent.

French tyre manufacturer Michelin (CGDE) edged down 2.70 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics went down by 1.73 percent, and French international cosmetics company L'OREAL lost 1.14 percent. Enditem
