Moroccan, Indonesian lawmakers call for stronger bilateral ties

RABAT, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Speaker of the Moroccan House of Advisors Hakim Benchamach and a visiting Indonesian delegation of lawmakers called Wednesday for establishing stronger ties between the two nations.
Benchamach met the delegation from the Regional Representative Council of Indonesia, one of the two parliamentary chambers in Indonesia on Wednesday.
During talks between the two sides, Benchamach said that Morocco and Indonesia have common values in civilization, culture and geostrategy, which serve as distinguished bases for the establishment of a model partnership between the two countries.
The Moroccan official praised the fraternal relations and fruitful cooperation between the two countries and peoples, based on the values of active solidarity, strong synergy, and mutual respect and consideration.
He also underlined the importance of parliamentary cooperation in the promotion and consolidation of Moroccan-Indonesian relations, stressing the need for developing concrete actions, plans and projects to strengthen bilateral ties.
Likewise, the Indonesian parliamentary delegation called for the establishment of a Moroccan-Indonesian parliamentary dialogue to further consolidate cooperation between the two states.
The delegation said the visit to Morocco will give new impetus to relations between Rabat and Jakarta, highlighting the potentials for strengthening partnership between the two countries, especially in the economic, trade, security, cultural and educational fields. Enditem
