Seoul shares end higher

SEOUL, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Seoul shares ended higher Wednesday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 26.21 points, or 1.07 percent, to settle at 2,479.98. Trading volume stood at 639.82 million shares worth 8.1 trillion won (7.6 billion U.S. dollars).

South Korea's currency finished at 1,068.7 won against the greenback, down 1.7 won from the previous close. Enditem
