CAPE TOWN, April 18 (Xinhua) -- The following are news items in South African major news outlets on Wednesday:

-- Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises is seeking legal advice from Speaker Baleka Mbete in dealing with some people allegedly involved in state capture.

The committee met on Tuesday to discuss steps to be taken against these people. (News24)

-- Bus drivers and employers have agreed to resume wage negotiations, with plans to take their salary deadlock to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) on Thursday.

The parties wouldn't budge on salary demands and offers, and declared a strike this week. (Eyewitness News)

-- Parliament's Justice Portfolio Committee has accused Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane of misleading Parliament. Last month Mkhwebane told the committee that she never met with former President Jacob Zuma before releasing her report into ABSA-Bankcorp.
