Australia, Japan reach final of 2018 AFC Women's Asian Cup

AMMAN, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Japan and Australia made it to the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2018 final, which will be held in Amman on April 20.

Japan beat China 3-1 in a semifinal match at the Amman International Stadium on Tuesday.

Japan forward Mana Iwabuchi broke the deallock in the 39th minute, while substitute Kumi Yokoyama scored in the 85th and 88th minutes.

China's forward Li Ying scored in the 90th minute with a penalty.

Eight-time champions China which finished top of Group A consigned to a play-off for third place with Thailand on April 20th.

Also Tuesday, Australia beat Thailand 3-1 on penalties after finishing 2-2 after 120 minutes.

Thai conceded an own goal in the 17th minute by Kanjanaporn Saengkoon. Forward Kanjana Sung-Ngoen scored in the 20th minute and midfielder Rattikan Thongsombut scored in the 63rd.

Australia's defender Alanna Kennedy saved her team by scoring a header in the 91st minute. Enditem
