French shares gain 0.76 pct Tuesday

PARIS, April 17 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Tuesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.76 percent, or 40.58 points, to close at 5,353.54 points.
25 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
European aviation group Airbus advanced 2.99 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French automobile group Peugeot rose 2.27 percent, followed by French international advertising giant Publicis which gained 1.96 percent.
French advertising group Vivendi went down by 1.42 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French luxury group Kering lost 0.30 percent, while French international distilled beverages producer Pernod Ricard edged down 0.25 percent. Enditem
