KUWAIT CITY, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait is ready to cement commercial relations with the United States, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement Tuesday.

Khaled Al-Roudhan, the Kuwait's Minister of Commerce and Industry, flew to the U.S. on Tuesday on a visit. He will hold talks with his U.S. counterpart Wilbur Louis Ross on means of promoting the domestic investment environment and cementing commercial relations between Kuwait and the United States, the statement said.

Al-Roudhan will also discuss with his American counterparts expertise swap, with an aim to increase commercial exchanges between the two countries, it said.

The minister is also scheduled to lecture at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and hold talks with officials of the World Bank on how to improve business in Kuwait according to international criteria.

Moreover, he will shed light during his meetings on incentives and guarantees for entrepreneurs in Kuwait.

Kuwaiti exports to the U.S. reached 141.6 million U.S. dollars and imports from America amounted to 3.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2017, the Kuwait News Agency said. Enditem
