British stocks up 0.39 pct Tuesday

LONDON, April 17 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up 27.85 points or 0.39 percent at 7,226.05 points.

Evraz, the international mining group, soared 6.60 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Mediclinic International and GKN rose by 5.43 percent and 4.29 percent respectively.

Reckitt Benckiser Group, a British health, hygiene and home products producer, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.18 percent.
