CHICAGO, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural commodities traded higher Tuesday morning, mostly on less optimistic government crop report and cold weather forecast for Midwest crop belt.
May corn was 1.25 cents higher at 3.8375 U.S. dollars per bushel as of 1145 GMT, May wheat was 5 cents higher at 4.6725 dollars, May soybean was up 3.25 cents at 10.45 dollars.
Wheat futures rebounded from a 10-day low after the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) report showed only 31 percent of the U.S. winter crop was in good or excellent condition.
Corn futures were also higher as the USDA report showed 3 percent of corn was planted as of Sunday, up by only 1 percentage point from the prior week and down from the average of 5 percent for this time of year.
Snow was falling Tuesday morning across the eastern U.S. lakes with low temperature being reported. The cold will linger into the weekend, and limited central U.S. spring planting will occur this week, according to the National Weather Service. Enditem
