Asian women's beach volleyball championship to be held in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY, April 17 (Xinhua) -- The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women's Beach Volleyball Championship will start on April 20 in southern Can Tho city, with the participation of 36 players of 18 teams from 10 countries and regions, the organizers announced Tuesday.

Australia, Hong Kong of China, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand and Thailand will send two teams each; Kazakhstan, Singapore and Malaysia one team each; and Vietnam three teams to the four-day tournament.

The championship's cash prizes total 12,000 U.S. dollars, including 2,600 U.S. dollars for the champion. Enditem
