Singapore stocks close 0.03 pct higher

SINGAPORE, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) wend up 0.03 percent or 1.01 points to close at 3498.2.

A total of 2.09 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.14 billion Singapore dollars (about 867.43 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 219 to 185.

The STI index closed down 0.12 percent or 4.11 points to close at 3497.19 on Monday. Enditem
