Brazil to play Croatia at Liverpool's Anfield

RIO DE JANEIRO, April 16 (Xinhua) -- A pre-World Cup friendly between Brazil and Croatia will be played at Liverpool's Anfield stadium, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said on Monday.

The June 3 fixture will mark Brazil's first appearance at the iconic venue in England's northwest. Their four previous matches in Liverpool - three of which came at the 1966 World Cup - were played at Everton's Goodison Park.

The five-time world champions will complete their World Cup preparations with a friendly against Austria in Vienna a week later. Croatia's final warmup match will be against Senegal in Osijek on June 8.

The World Cup will run in 11 Russian cities from June 14 to July 15.

Brazil's squad for the Anfield duel is likely to include Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho, who left the Premier League club in January to join Barcelona. Enditem
