CAPE TOWN, April 15 (Xinhua) -- The following are top news items in South African major media outlets on Sunday.

-- Political battles played out at Winnie Madikizela-Mandela's funeral, as some leaders were booed and old rivalries were hashed out in tribute speeches to the global icon.

The special state official funeral was held at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday, following the 81-year-old's passing in hospital on April 2.(News24)

-- Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba is going back to the courts to fight the Oppenheimers in a legal matter that threatens his cabinet position.

Gigaba has so far come short in court battles with Fireblade Aviation, owned by the wealthy Oppenheimer family. The courts have agreed with Fireblade that Gigaba granted it approval for a private terminal at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.(City Press)

-- Anti-apartheid icon Winnie Madikizela Mandela was laid to rest at Fourways Memorial Park, north of Johannesburg on Saturday.
