BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.66 percent, at 3,159.05 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.37 percent lower at 10,687.02 points. The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.13 percent to close at 1,824.59 points.

MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed marginally higher Friday as technology stocks and reliance industries continued to support, but the selling pressure select banks capped upside.
The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 34,192.65, 91.52 point or 0.27 percent up compared to its previous close at 34,101.13.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended lower here on Friday.
