German shares gain 0.98 pct Thursday

FRANKFURT, April 12 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index up 121.04 points, or 0.98 percent, to close at 12,415.01 points.

German airlines Lufthansa won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.71 percent. Energy group RWE and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen rose by 2.68 percent and 2.42 percent respectively.

Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.42 percent. Multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement and personal-care company Beiersdorf down by 0.83 percent and 0.11 percent respectively.

Volkswagen was the most-traded share with a turnover of 368.52 million euros (454.12 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
