LUSAKA, April 12 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Thursday.

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has challenged the business community in the country and India to work towards increasing trade between the two countries exceeding 1 billion U.S. dollars by the end of this year. (Times of Zambia)

-- The Zambian government has formulated an export strategy to promote the growth of non-traditional exports.

Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Christopher Yaluma said once approved, the measure will form an important vehicle for implementing priorities that have been identified in the Seventh National Development Plan as part of diversifying the economy from copper dependence. (Zambia Daily Mail)
