RABAT, April 11 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan government adopted Wednesday a new employment plan aiming at creation of 1.2 million jobs by 2021.

The program was approved by an inter-ministerial committee during a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Saadeddine El Otmani.

This plan covers the remaining four years in the government mandate and aims to improve employment of 1.1 million job seekers.

It also provides for the establishment of 20,000 small businesses to encourage job creation and boost entrepreneurship.

In 2017, Morocco's unemployment rate rose to 10.2 percent from 9.9 percent a year earlier, according to the official High Commission for Planning. Enditem
