British stocks down 0.13 pct Wednesday

LONDON, April 11 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.13 percent, or 9.61 points, to close at 7,257.14 points.

Tesco, a British multinational grocery and general merchandise retailer, soared 7.18 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Fresnillo and Randgold Resources increased by 3.63 percent and 2.62 percent, respectively.

Coca-Cola HBC, a bottler of Coca-Cola products, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.42 percent. Centrica, a British multinational utility company, dropped 2.56 percent. Carnival, a global cruise company, fell 2.15 percent. Enditem
