SOFIA, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Bulgaria is planning to double the length of its motorways by 2025, the country's Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) said in a press release on Wednesday.

In 2018 and 2019, Bulgaria would start construction of three motorways in the northern part of the country with a total length of 350 km, including Ruse-Veliko Turnovo, Vidin-Botevgrad and Sofia-Kalotina, RIA's board chairman Doncho Atanasov said in a press release.

Meanwhile, the country would begin building the last 312 km of the Hemus and Struma motorways, Atanasov said, and the construction works are scheduled to be completed by 2025.

The total length of the motorways in Bulgaria is now 740 km, and over 300 km of them were built in the last five years, Atanasov said. Enditem
