15 IS suspects seized in Istanbul

Xinhua,April 11, 2018 Adjust font size:

ISTANBUL, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Turkish police on Wednesday detained 15 foreigners in Istanbul over their suspected links to the Islamic State (IS), local media reported.

Anti-terror teams launched simultaneous operations in eight districts of the city against IS suspects who were believed to have been planning terror attacks, the state-run Anadolu Agency said.

Many documents and digital materials were seized along with the suspects during the raids, the agency noted.

Turkey has been cracking down hard on IS suspects, as the country has been hit by a series of suicide attacks carried out by the group since 2015. Enditem
