Senior CPC official meets UK Cabinet Office minister

BEIJING, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Cai Qi, a member of Political Bureau of Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with UK Cabinet Office minister David Lidington in Beijing on Wednesday.

Lidington is in Beijing to attend the 10th China-UK Leadership Forum.

Cai, also secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, said that the exchanges between the political parties of the two countries serve as an important part of Sino-British ties. He expected the two sides to make good use of the China-UK Leadership Forum to contribute to the development of bilateral relations.

Lidington said that the United Kingdom highly values the forum's role, expressing the will to deepen cooperation and exchanges with Beijing and inject vigor into bilateral ties. Enditem
