UNITED NATIONS -- The United Nationals Security Council remained "paralyzed" on investigating the recent alleged chemical weapons use in Syria with Russia and the United States continuing to shoot down each other's proposals Tuesday.

VLADIVOSTOK, Russia -- Six people were killed in a Mi-8 helicopter crash in the Russian Far Eastern city of Khabarovsk, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said Wednesday.
"The incident occurred at 11:30 local time (0130 GMT). The helicopter made a hard landing. According to preliminary information, six people were on board. All of them died," the statement read. (Russia-Helicopter crash)

TOKYO -- Search and rescue operations are continuing after a landslide buried houses on Wednesday morning in Oita Prefecture, southwestern Japan, leaving one person dead and five others unaccounted for.

YANGON -- Six people including an 8-year-old girl have been killed with several others injured in a car crash on a highway in Myanmar's Yangon region, local media the Standard Time Daily reported Wednesday.
