Tokyo stocks open flat on Wall Street-linked buying, profit-taking

Xinhua,April 11, 2018 Adjust font size:

TOKYO, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened flat Wednesday as investors both bought on the back of gains made following a strong showing on Wall Street overnight and sold to secure profits following recent advances here.

As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 8.56 points, or 0.04 percent, from Tuesday to 21,802.88.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 0.25 point, or 0.01 percent, at 1,732.19.

Oil and coal product and mining issues led those that gained from the morning bell, while pharmaceutical and food issues led issues that declined. Enditem
