Part-timers Robben and Ribery

BERLIN, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich's golden agers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery can expect an extension of their contracts when accepting a part-time job in the future.

In advance of the 2013 treble winner's Champions League quarterfinal second leg against FC Sevilla, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has indicated the Bavarians would extent the collaboration with the Dutch and French wingers if both accept the club's demands.

"Not much speaks against a new contract, their performance has been excellent lately" Rummenigge said.

Reports say the 2018 German champions told Robben, 34, and Ribery, 35, about their plans to rejuvenate the team next season whilst retaining the two to take advantage of their experience.

"Robbery" are expected to help Bayern's youngsters such as Kingsley Coman (21) and 22-year-old Serge Gnabry (returning from TSG Hoffenheim) to gain experience and move up a level.

Media reports speak about Bayern is to likely announce new contracts for Robben and Ribery after the club's successful qualification for the semifinal of the Champions League. In Wednesday's duel against five times Europa League winner Sevilla, Bayern can build on a 2-1 lead from the first leg.

Robben and Ribery are expected to be in the starting 11 to help secure qualification for the next round.

The management of Robben and Ribery is said to be in town for Wednesday' s game and will soon start final negotiations with Bayern.

"Both are very special for the club. They have played for Bayern since nine and ten years. That is something extraordinary in professional football these days. Next, to their exceptional quality, I really appreciate their rare loyalty," Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes commented.

Heynckes told German media that they keep both for another year and benefit from their experience. Both would however have to accept their new role. Heynckes said he is optimistic both will still be of great value for the club even though they are only "part-timers".

Both Robben and Ribery recently emphasized they would like a decision to be made soon as they have received several offers from other clubs.

Ribery is said to have caused interest in clubs from China and Qatar. Robben indicated his father Hans has told him of offers from several European clubs.

In advance of the Sevilla game, Heynckes spoke about his recent keynote speech to his team. "I told them success is only possible when we act with a strong and unbreakable team spirit," Heynckes said.

Bayern's coach told his squad to optimize the team's quality by putting personal interests second. "I have the feeling the message got to the players' minds. We need all of them. We need Franck and Arjen, and we need younger players such as Sandro Wagner and Niklas Suele to achieve our ambitious goals," the 1974 World Champion stressed.

Heynckes said he is impressed by the working ethics of Ribery and Robben as both have complied with his demand they are top fit for the final months of the season.

"At their age, it is important they are given time to recover to be at their best on the pitch," Heynckes said.

After Heynckes announced his departure after the 2017/2018 season, Bayern's new coach will have to deal with Robben and Ribery. To avoid trouble, Bayern is demanding that its seniors accept their new role.

As for club's goal to win the Champions League, the Bayern coach underlined his team's determination to win as many titles as possible after securing their sixth consecutive national title last weekend. Enditem
