Dongfeng Yueda Kia produces 5 millionth car

NANJING, April 10 (Xinhua) -- With a new K5 car rolling off the production line, the Dongfeng Yueda Kia Motor Co. has just produced its 5 millionth vehicle.

The announcement was made by the company Monday in east China's Jiangsu Province. General manager So Nam-young said the company would upgrade its production, launching two SUV models and two new energy cars in 2018.

The company will launch 18 new or updated models within two years including hybrid electric cars and cars powered purely by electricity.

Dongfeng Yueda Kia is a joint venture of Chinese auto maker Dongfeng Motor Corp. with China's Jiangsu Yueda Investment Co. and Kia, an auto maker from the Republic of Korea.

It has three plants in China with an annual production capacity of nearly 900,000 units. Enditem
