German shares close flat Monday

FRANKFURT, April 9 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index up 20.48 points, or 0.17 percent, to close at 12,261.75 points.

Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.18 percent. German airlines Lufthansa and Deutsche Bank rose by 1.83 percent and 1.32 percent respectively.

Industrial giant Thyssenkrupp lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.43 percent. Material manufacturer Covestro and chemical and consumer goods company Henkel went down by 1.35 percent and 0.93 percent respectively.

Automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most-traded share with a turnover of 250.29 million euros (307.95 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
