Tokyo stocks flat in morning as trade concerns weigh

Xinhua,April 09, 2018 Adjust font size:

TOKYO, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks were basically flat Monday morning as Wall Street's sell-off late last week on trade concerns led to a circumspect market mood here.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 12.90 points, or 0.06 percent, from Friday to 21,580.42.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, shed 0.24 point, or 0.01 percent, at 1,719.06.

Food and insurance issues led gainers, while mining and marine transportation comprised issues that retreated the most by the morning break. Enditem
