1º de Agosto defeat Caala in Angola's championship

LUANDA, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Defending champions 1º de Agosto beat on Sunday Recreativo da Caala 2-0 in the central Huambo province, in the ninth round of the Angolan national first division soccer championship (Girabola2018).

The 1º de Agosto's Nigerian players Razaq and Ibokun scored the goals of the match at 41 and 46 minutes, respectively, goals which enabled 1º de Agosto to add up to eight points and provisionally occupying 14th place, while Caala are at 11th with 11 points.

1º de Agosto still has four games in hand, which were not played due to it involvement in the African Champions League qualifiers.

For the same round on Sunday, Kuando Kubango FC and Bravos do Maquis drew nil-nil, Progresso beat 1º de Maio 2-1, while Petro de Luanda and Recreativo do Libolo also drew nil-nil.

The 16-team championship is led by Interclub with 19 pionts, while JGM are at the bottom of the table with two points. Enditem
