Palestinian man shot in suspected stabbing attack in West Bank

JERUSALEM, April 8 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli civilian on Sunday shot and injured a Palestinian man who attempted to stab another Israeli in the West Bank, Israeli police said.

The incident took place at a petrol station outside Mishor Adumim, one of the largest Jewish settlements in the Israel-occupied West Bank, according to a police spokesperson.

It was suspected of a "terror attack," the spokesperson noted.

The suspect was taken to the Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital in Jerusalem in a critical condition, a hospital spokesperson said.

The attack came two days after nine Palestinians, including a journalist, were killed and hundreds of others injured by Israeli gunfire during protests along the security fence between Gaza and Israel. Enditem
