ATHENS, April 7 (Xinhua) -- A 40-year-old woman lost her life on Saturday during a rafting accident at Ladonas River, near the town of Kalavryta, about 200 kilometers west of Athens, Greek national news agency AMNA reported.

The victim whose nationality has not yet been identified was among eleven people who were on an inflatable raft when it capsized, according to local authorities.

The incident happened as thousands of Greek Orthodox Christians have left urban centers for the countryside to celebrate Easter this Sunday. Enditem
