1st LD: Car drives into crowd in German city of Muenster, causing deaths

FRANKFURT, April 7 (Xinhua) -- A vehicle drove into a group of seated people in the old town of western German city of Muenster on Saturday afternoon, leaving several people dead and injured, the local police told via twitter.

Three people died and up to 30 people were injured in this attack, the local newspaper "Rheinische Post" reported, citing a police spokesman.

Police say the driver of the car has died.

Firefighters, ambulances and police cars are currently traveling in the city center according to various news reports. Enditem
