Spain's industrial production up 3.1 pct in February

MADRID, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Spain's industrial production rose by 3.1 percent in February when compared with the same month in 2017, according to the Index of Industrial Production (IPI) published on Friday by Spain's Statistical Office (INE).

The figure was 0.3 percentage point lower than that of January, when the country's industrial production rose by 3.4 percent year-on-year.

Production of consumer goods rose by 0.1 percent in February year-on-year, with production of durable consumer goods increasing by 3.4 percent and production of non-durable consumer goods falling by 0.2 percent.

Production of capital goods rose by 2.1 percent and production of intermediate goods increased by 4.8 percent in February year-on-year. Energy production rose by 5.3 percent.

Spain's industrial production has been rising 10 months in a row year-on-year, according to data published by the INE. Enditem
