CAPE TOWN, April 6 (Xinhua) -- The following are news items in South African major news outlets on Friday.

-- Former president Jacob Zuma's corruption case has been postponed to June 8 following his brief appearance in the Durban High Court.

Zuma wants to bring a review application in terms of National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) head Shaun Abrahams's decision to reinstate charges against him after it was withdrawn. (News24)

-- Former president Jacob Zuma on Friday morning arrived at the Durban High Court where he will finally answer to 16 charges from almost a decade ago relating to the arms deal.

Zuma is facing charges of fraud, corruption and racketeering. (Eyewitness News).

-- Preparations are under way for the funeral of anti-apartheid icon Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

The government has confirmed that a number of high-profile international dignitaries will attend the funeral at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday. Madikizela-Mandela's funeral is expected to be the biggest after those of her former ex-husband Nelson Mandela and the slain SA Communist Party general-secretary Chris Hani.
