Camera traps show giant panda, cub in wild

Xinhua,April 06, 2018 Adjust font size:

XI'AN, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Camera traps have caught a giant panda mother nursing a cub in a Chinese nature reserve.

The video and still images were captured on April 1 in a bamboo forest about 2,600 meters above sea level in the Qinling Mountains in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

The panda mother was nursing her cub, which was around eight months old. The two had been walking on the snow-covered ground.

The pandas live in Changqing National Nature Reserve, which covers about 30,000 hectares. Most of the reserve is covered by bamboo forest, a key habitat for giant pandas.

There were around 345 wild pandas in the Qinling area in 2013, and the population has been increasing steadily. Enditem
