LOS ANGELES, April 5 (Xinhua) -- A 49-year-old suspect was detained by police Thursday afternoon after a small explosion at a Sam's Club store in Ontario, 68 km east of Los Angeles downtown.

According to Ontario Police Department, police and fire brigade officials rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at about 2:00 pm (2100 GMT).

"There appears to be no structural damage or any injuries at this point. All employees and customers are accounted for," the police tweeted, saying a suspect, identified as Hugo Gonzalez, was in custody and being questioned by investigators.

The local San Bernardino Sun newspaper reported that Gonzalez was detained a short distance from the retail chain store. Police found another device in his vehicle.

Elisio Guerrero, a spokesperson for the police department, told the media investigators believed Gonzalez had acted alone but his motive was not immediately clear. Enditem
