WASHINGTON, April 5 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened to slap 100 billion U.S. dollars in additional tariffs on China.

The president said in light of China's retaliation, he has instructed the United States Trade Representative to consider whether 100 billion U.S. dollars of additional tariffs would be appropriate.

China vows to defend its national interests against U.S. trade actions and protectionism. Enditem
