Dollar climbs to lower 107 yen on strong stocks

TOKYO, April 5 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar rose to the lower 107 yen zone Thursday in Tokyo on strong U.S. and Japanese stocks.

At 5:00 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 107.05-07 yen compared with 106.73-83 yen in New York and 106.20-22 yen in Tokyo at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday. It moved between 106.72 yen and 107.15 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.2258-2260 dollars and 131.22-26 yen against 1.2274-2284 dollars and 131.08-18 yen in New York and 1.2294-2295 dollars and 130.57-61 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon. Enditem
