LUSAKA, April 5 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Thursday.

-- Zambia's sound investment environment has continued attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from China in both private and public sectors, outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Yang Youming has said.

The outgoing Chinese envoy said Zambia was the second largest destination of Chinese investment in Africa because of its stable and conducive environment. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu said he wanted dialogue meant to deal with conflicts arising from the 2016 disputed elections to be locally driven.

The Zambian leader, who said the ruling party was ready for the dialogue being facilitated by the Commonwealth, noted that the dialogue process must be driven by the Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue, a grouping of political parties, and not external players who could only participate as observers. -- The head of Zambia's ruling party has told ministers and members of the party that they will go to prison if they don't work hard to win the 2021 general elections.
