ANKARA -- The deployment of Russian S-400 anti-ballistic missile systems has been scheduled in July 2019, the head of Turkish procurement agency said Wednesday.
"The time of delivery cited on the purchasing contract of S-400s has been brought forward to July 2019," Ismail Demir, the head of the Undersecreteriat for Defense Industries (SSM) wrote on his Twitter. (Turkey-Russia-Missile Purchase)

ANKARA -- Turkey, Russia and Iran stressed their determination to speed up efforts to "ensure calm on the ground and fight against separatism in Syria," said a joint statement released after the trilateral summit on Wednesday.
The Turkish, Russian and Iranian presidents "vowed their joint resolve to speed up efforts to ensure calm on the ground and protect civilians in the de-escalation areas, as well as to facilitate rapid, safe and unhindered humanitarian access to these areas," the statement said. TIKRIT, Iraq -- Hundreds of people suffer from diarrhea and colic admitted to hospitals during the past two days in Iraq's central province of Salahudin due to contamination of drinking water, medical sources said on Wednesday.
"The tests in the laboratories confirmed that drinking water from Tigris River was highly contaminated with fecal and intestinal bacteria," Mohammed al-Azzawi, deputy head of the medical center of the town of al-Alam, told Xinhua. (Iraq-Salahudin-Pollution)

DAMASCUS -- China has donated 1 million U.S. dollars in aid to the World Food Programme (WFP) in Syria to purchase food for the war-stricken Syrians, the Chinese Embassy to Syria said Wednesday.
