German shares lose 0.37 pct Wednesday

FRANKFURT, April 4 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 44.55 points, or 0.37 percent, to close at 11,957.90 points.

German airlines Lufthansa lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2.49 percent, followed by semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and multinational chemical firm Linde, which lost 2.26 percent and 2.13 percent respectively.

Pharmaceutical company Merck, sportswear and equipment maker Adidas and reinsurance company Munich Re were the top three winners, rising 1.45 percent, 1.28 percent and 0.98 percent respectively.

Automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 333.92 million euros (409.92 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
