North China factory explosion caused by malfunction

TAIYUAN, April 4 (Xinhua) -- An explosion at the workshop of an aluminum company in north China's Shanxi Province was caused by uncontrolled aluminum liquid flooding into a cast well, local authorities said Wednesday.

The blast happened early Tuesday morning at Yunhai Aluminum Company in the city of Yongji. Three people died at the scene and three others were injured, said the local government.

The injured were taken to the hospital. They are now in a stable condition.

The company, which was registered in 2010, mainly produces aluminum alloy products. Enditem
